My purpose in writing this definition was to persuade reader that people should take action to protect our environment.
There are plenty of resources on this planet and they can help to make our lives rich. We have green plants, clear streams, blue sky, to use and admire. In the past, we took it for granted that everything was put there for use to use. However, as the years have passed by, we have seen the result of our actions from the poisoning and partial destruction of our natural environment.
Modern life depends on energy. Without energy, our system of transportation couldn't function. By using energy too wastefully and irresponsibly, we have created huge environmental problems. We have also used up too much of many nonrenewable resources, such as oil.
We must take action to prevent our environment from being further destroyed. First we have to learn much more about environmental protection. We must then use those knowledges to protect our environment. If possible, we should take public transport instead of private cars, when we leave the house we should turn off all lights and power. Protecting the environment is really something we all must strive for. Perhaps then we can make a better tomorrow.

Comparison and Contrast Thai food and Japanese food
People always discuss about exotic foods. There are many options to choose. I think that two common exotic foods people choose in Taiwan are Thai food and Japanese food. Both type of foods all delicious. But Thai food and Japanese food are totally different. The purpose of this essay is to contrast the taste.
I'm going to discuss Thai food first. Chili and flavor are important in Thai food. Most of Thai food are spicy and sour. It is usually strongly flavored. Coconut milk is often added in Thai food. And if you like the taste of basil, and I'm sure you will like Thai food. Because they use basil to stir-fry with different kind of meat, the basil helps food become more tasty. Thai food is suitable for people who like strong-taste.
Secondly, I'm going to disucss Japanese food. It has totally different taste from Thai food. Most of Japanese are not greasy and without strong flavor. Japanese attach great importance to health, and greasy and strongly flavored food is considered unhealthy by them. They use specially sauce to cook or to soak with foods. They made the sauce with special and healthy materials. Japanese are renowned for their advocacy of delicate food culture. The harm cause by smoking
As everybody knows, smoking is harmful to your health. It can cause cancer in smorkers as well as in passive smorkers. According to statistics, a large number of people die every year of cancer and other diseases related to smoking. Not only is this a great loss for their family, but society also spends a lot of money to pay for their health care.
Up to now, smoking has been regared as an acceptable pastime. In fact, nicotine is a drug, and smokers become addicted to it. With so much evidence to show how bad smoking is, the next time someone asks: " Do you mind if I smoke?" we should say"Yes, I mind for you, and for me."

Living in such a fast-paced society, no one can be free from stress. People everywhere suffer from some kind of stress, and I'm no exception. As a night time student, I'm under pressure from the school work, exams also and my day time work.
Whenever I'm under stress, I like to go for a walk and listen to music. Stress can be reduced by a leisurely stroll on the street or a fetching melody. A beautiful piece of music can cheer me up when the pressure and worries are making me feel bad. Music is such a great thing, it really helps me.
Knowing how to deal with stress is essential for living a good life.

How a storybook is made
All storybooks start with an author's idea. When a story is finished, the author sends it off to a publishing house, then where the editor reads the manuscript.
The publisher has to decide if they want to publish the story. Once everything has been agreed, the author signs a official contract. First they have to checked for mistakes by a proofreader, then they must find a designer inserts the illustrations and all the corrections.
The finished pages are put on a disk and sent off to the printer, who produces page for everyone to check. When any corrections have been made, the book is ready to print. At the printer's the sheets of paper are folded, gathered, bound inside the cover and trimmed to the right size.
Finally the big day arrives! After long time of hard work, by many different people, the storybook has found its way to the book stores.

The advantages of bicycle riding
Bicycle riding has many advantages. Bicycles are as economical as buses, but you don't have to wait for them. They are as convenient as cars, able to go anywhere at any time, and what's more, can easily avoid traffic jams. And their advantage over cars and buses is that they are pollution-free, so they do not harm the environment.

My first diving trip
My first diving trip was not at all what I expected. Some of my friends and I packed our car Friday night and drove 2 hours to a famous diving place in south Taiwan ~ Kengting. It's a nice beach but I didn't have good time at that time. One of my friend is a diving coach he try to teach me how to diving even I can't swimming. I was aspire after under the sea for a long time, and that just a good chance for reach my dream. I thought it could be easy when if somebody can teach me, but it was too difficult for me. Because I'm not ever to conquered my fear of water. So, in the end I only can carry the heavy and expensive diving accouterment waited on the beach. I was so disappointed of myself, but I'm sure I would like to try again soon or later.

Pesaro is a great place to go for a relax vaction
Where is the best place for take a vaction? For me, Pesaro is a great place to go for a relax vaction. It's a port location in middle east of Italy.
Actually it's just a small town. Maybe there have not many things to do and see, but I'd bet that also why you can be completely relax over there. For example, to compred with other part of Italy, there have not too many touristic. Therefor I can forget about bustle of city life for the present. There is a beautiful beach that are perfect for people who like water sport. You also can just lie down on the beach enjoy the sun bath and peaceful moment . Usually I’d like stay there till sunset, it’s one of wonderful view in the world.
After sunset, you can take a little bit walk to the bar or restaurant nearby the beach. There are different type of Italian foods, Pizza, spaghetti, macaroni...and most of food that I don't know the name. They all delicious then you can image, and you also can spend some daytimes leisurable walked on their old street. The traditional European buildings will leading you into the Renaissance age.
Beautiful view, wonderful beach and delicious foods with a cup of beer or wine. Sometimes life should be like this don't you think so?

That's me!
I'm a short, average lady with a round-face, and wavy black long hair. My favorite dress is simple shirt with jeans. I'm always wearing a dark plastic frame glasses. I have a pair of double-fold eyelid with short eyelashes eyes, and a small nose, not big mouth with thin lips. I have ten long and thin fingers and I think they are good-looking better then my face.
I'm a very independent woman, and good in social life. I'm not smart enough but I know how to appreciate the life that I have. I'm a creative person so I have rich imagination, but the bad thing is sometimes I daydream too much. I easy get nervous stammer, but I'm a brave woman. Face up to life with smiles, and keep smiling though sometimes with tears in eyes. That's me! simple and easygoing.

Mexico To Go
Everyone loves delicacies and of course include me, I'm not a gastronome, but I have to eat outside almost every meal. Therefor how to choose food become one of important thing in my life.
I would like to try different kind of foods, especially exotic food. I prefer exotic flavors and different cook way. And lately I found a very nice exotic restaurant in Tainan city.
The restaurant names "Mexico To Go", and as the name it's selling Mexican food. It's not a big and formal place, actually it's more like a dining room or kitchen in the family. Light blue, green and bright yellow all colors just make me feel cheerful. And the taste of food and price just exactly answer my needs.
They offer customers a variety of choices at reasonable prices. They are serving their customers with the best food and service possible. They are selling some simple Mexican foods Taco, Burrito, Quesadilla, Nachos, Taco Salad, Mexican Pizza...etc. All tasty and unusual and the price from NT.45~200$.
The owners are a Taiwanese lady with an American guy, you can see the big smile on both of them face all the time. Next time when you tired of tradition food just go there, and you could have some different experience. A exotic restaurant in Tainan
We all know Tainan food are quite famous in Taiwan especially local snack, so some say that's not easy cater for Tianan people's appetite. Therefor it's also not easy to exist when you have a restaurant here. Beside delicious you must have some thing different or special to cater for Tainan people.
Today I want to introduce a exotic restaurant in Tainan names Mexico To Go. It's location nearly center, I had been there for several times, and it's gaves me very good impressions. It's a exotic food restaurant, they are selling some simple Mexican food, the flavoring inside are so taste and unusual. The environment and owner also makes me felt very comfortable.

We are going to have a music concert
We are going to have a music concert this Sunday at 7.30 P.M.!
Fellow these directions to get to Tainan cultural center. They will lead you from train station to Tainan cultural center by car or motorbike. You can find your way there from your house if you know the location of Tainan train station.
From the train station, turn left on Bei-men road. Go straight until the first circle then follow the circle and you will see Ta-tung road then turn right. Stay on Ta-tung road after passing Sin-yang gas station, then you will see Lin-sen road then turn left, and you will see an underground passage immediately. After pass though it you have to turn right to Cong-min road. Stay on Cong-min road until the second traffic light, then you can see the Tainan cultural center in your right side. This is the place, the music concert will take place in the square of cultural center.
We hope that you will come. Please dress formal. You may also bring a friend. You might miss a good show if you don't come.

how is life going?
Dear Matthias:
It is Sunday morning and I just woke up after a long sleep. It was a sunny day today, after you left the weather become cooler and cooler and I can feel the autumn in Taiwan now. I love it.
Last night Jessica and Elmar invited me to go to their house. Jessica cooked for everyone and we had a delicious Austrian food for dinner. After dinner we sat a little bit, relax and drank a bottle of wine. we all miss you, and they said they might go back to Austria in end of November in this year, that is sad news for me, I know it's not right, but I have to say I really hate to say goodbye with my good friends. All good things must come to an end. That's life and I still learning.
Am I had to tell you about my school life? I am learning a lot in my classes. I do like most of my teacher and classmates, especially they are so cute and friendly. We will have a party at coming weekend, I am so excited about that. I guess that should be have a lot of fun, and I will send you the pictures later.

always moving forward
Life is always unexpectable. I'm so glad I can go back to study again. I was studied graphic design before, therefor English is totally a new and hard course. It's not easy but I'll try my best.
I'm a lazy student when I was in high school, and I pass all of courses luckily. I guess that because I have alittle bit endowment in graphic design, but you know no one can be luck forever especially for a lazy person like me. So after school I can't found a good job that I wanted. And I was too yung and too immature at that time. So mostly I changed the job for once of three month, because I don't know what I really want. Just like a boat drifted on the sea without any destination.
When fllow the age with life experience, I start to realize the time seems to slip though my fingers, and I can't forget my passion in graphic design. So finally I decied to screw up my courage, then I found an assistant designer job in a small company. Believe me that realy a difficult time for me. I was know nothing about computer and wihout any exprience, and the other lucky thing is I had a superior, he was very good in sarcastic. He had more then ten times ask me to search another easily job with his sarcastic smile, of course it's a setback for me, but thanks God that not beat me besides I proved that I can do it well. Now I'm doing graphic design more then seven years, and I'm sure I'll keep doing, I'm not the best but I'm a competent designer, and I appreciated every difficult course I had.
Life is never stop learning for me, that's also why I choose to come back to school. I like English, I love to learn more different knowledge, and I'm so happy can meet these new friends in my life. Now I luckily got this chance so I will try hard to work on it. I'm happy and healthy, I try to be thankful for the privileged life I have, and not want for too many material things. I do hope I can always moving forward.

first writing class
Hello every body~ I'm Wen-shin Yang english name is Rose. I'm a graphic designer and a night time student also. It's not easy when work and study in the same time, especially I choose the major taht I never study before.
If you ask me why I choose this major. The reason is I'm really interested in language, especially English and some European languages. Therefor I come here for improve my english.
